When choosing between the Kubota KX057-5 and the CAT 305 compact excavators, it’s important to consider a few things, including evaluating your work-related needs. At Kubota Center, we did the homework for you! This guide outlines the weight, hydraulic performance, and capabilities differences between the KX057-5 and the CAT 305!
Operating weight affects the machine's stability and transportation ease, and both models are in a similar weight class, although with slight differences. The Kubota KX057-5 has an operating weight of 12,346 pounds, making it lighter than its counterpart, CAT 305, which weighs 12,688 pounds. This difference means the CAT may offer a touch more stability, but the Kubota’s lower weight improves its maneuverability and is easier to transport to different sites.
When comparing horsepower, the KX057-5 offers a Kubota-built 47.6 horsepower engine, delivering slightly more power than the CAT 305, which has 45 horsepower. The extra horsepower gained in the KX057-5 gives users an edge, giving them more power for heavier-duty tasks and increasing overall performance. Whether handling complex excavations or material handling tasks, the KX057-5 has the power advantage to help them complete the job more efficiently and increase overall productivity!
Digging capabilities are another factor, especially if you’re working on projects that require deeper trenching or precise digging. The Kubota KX057-5 boasts an impressive digging depth of 12 feet, nine inches, slightly outperforming the CAT 305, which has a digging depth of 12 feet. That extra nine-inch reach with the KX057-5 allows you to handle deeper excavations confidently, minimizing the need for additional tools and making your job more efficient. Both models have advanced hydraulic systems, providing operators with control for a smooth excavation experience.
After lining up the KX057-5 alongside the CAT 305, we see they provide similar power and capabilities. Still, the Kubota stands out for its greater horsepower, deeper digging capabilities, and superior maneuverability. These advantages make the Kubota KX057-5 a top choice for operators looking to boost productivity on the job.
